What is Precise Parties

I have found to often be called when parties are being planned to help the party thrower. I enjoy throwing parties and helping others throw parties!! I enjoy every part of it!! Even if it's your kids birthday party at home ~ I love it!! I love the lists, the cleaning, the cooking, the creating, the decorating & the cleaning again!! I even love when kids make messes... they are having a good time ~ right? That's all that matters!! Who's having a good time!! We only get one life, let's enjoy it while we can!!

what? it's 6 o'clock?

After painiting & putting the bedroom back together, it was 6 pm. What will we eat & can I still go to the gym after moving my daughter's heavy ass bed ~ yep, all by myself. As a mom you realize that you can do anything ~ and you certainily don't have the patience for the dads to come help... Anyway, I happened to come across some chicken filled ravioli, just need to be cooked. Well, what else? So here goes the whipped together recipe that was so good!!

Brown Butter/Balsamic Ravioli

2 packages ravioli ~ your choice

boil until they float ~ approx 5 min ~ then drain

In the meantime, put a few pats of butter in a large saute pan to melt. Let the butter turn brown. Once butter is the color you desire, add the ravioli to the butter to coat. Turn heat down to low. Then add a splash of balsamic vinegar, and mix well.

Once plated top with parmesean cheese and serve with a salad.

So quick, so good!! You'll eat this again...

Almost 10...

So here we are it's Sunday, my daughter realizes her birthday is in a few weeks... she see's a "Roxy" bed set... calls Grandma of course...well she get's it!! So need less to say, I was painting my daughters room on Sunday afternoon with my ex-husband... how weird is that?? Yeah, I know... take one for the team it's your daughter... I did!! But really it wasn't that bad?? So this my friends, is her party ~ her new bed ensemble & her parents painting with her, oh yes, don't forget the little one, Ady, the 4 year old, wanting to so badly help... ;-0 I pick her up from school on Monday, she's now ready to do the strips of paint. After measuring, taping & painiting her is what we've got so far!! She is so very proud of hernew creation, and I'm so proud of her!!

Tea Party Accesories

So I figured I'd have to share all these cute little things I've come across along the way...invitations (yep...found em' right in the "Bride section" at Micheal's. I just thought the pink was so vibrant & tea partish!! (is that a word??) Anyway, when having such a speciality party, ask people you know if they may have things that you can borrow. You'd be surprised to know that your grandmother may have a tea set that was the early 1900's and she's been hoping you ask for it!! You may have to dig in the attic & do some serious dusting but it is so worth it!! I was fortunate that my bosses wife had a set of 16 tea cups & saucers. Just look how cute they are! I started looking early enough so that if I couldn't borrow, I'd hit the thrift shops...

Adyson turned 4

So I know it's a little old, but we can blame it on the holidays... ;-) Forgive me, I wasn't sure of the whole blog world...

My ittle angel turned 4 in December. This year was a back yard party!! I think when they are still young yard parties are great, especially when your kids have December & February parties, so the pool is not an option, even here in FL. We get cold too... We got a bounce house with a slide. My oldest daughter, Averie, insisted on the slide. So we used http://www.bouncybiz.com/, my ex's cousin's company. Anyway, I had 12 kids all but 2 under the age of 5. It was a great day and fun was had by all.

For the food ~ I'm a believer that kids will eat if you give them the right stuff. Their menu consisted of mini sandwiches. Ham & swiss, turkey & chedder & pbj's. We cut them out with mimi cookie cutters in different shapes. They also had cheese & crackers and fruit. They ate it all. No one used plates but at least they all ate. The adults had pizza. My mother in law made homemade pizzas and I made a BBQ chicken pizza & a Thai Chicken pizza.

The cake... well it was the inspiration of the whole party. My girlfriend, Leslie, http://www.hungryhousewife.blogspot.com/ made a "cupcake cake" for her neice. I loved it. So we borrowed the cupcake cakepan. Too cute!! I did a trial run, Adyson loved it!! Her own cupcake. Which at 4 they only eat frosting anyway.

The Infamous Tea Party

This past year, 2008, sure has been a bitch!! It seems like everyone I know has had some sort of drama...since I'm over all that and only hoping that 2009 can only get better, I'm starting the year off right!! I'm throwing a "Tea Party" birthday bash for my mom in March. Unfortunately, she too had a bad 2008, she lost her husband, Charlie, to lung cancer in August. Incidentally, this was the same cancer my father died of when I was 10. She's a strong woman and she's holding up and standing tall. Anyway, a tea paty is what he would have wanted for her so that's what I'm doing. It will be an intimate setting in my backyard with 20 of her closest girlfriends and yes, with tea cups & saucers too!! In the meantime, I'll be practicing what I'll be making, baking & creating and sharing it all with you!! Maybe it will inspire you to have your own tea party!!
